TECHNICAL DETAILS
This darkroom timer is an f-stop timer. This means that the exposure time is not changed in second intervals (1, 2, 3, 4 sec) but in f-stop intervals (1, 2, 4, 8 sec). The exposure time can be changed in 1/2, 1/3, 1/6, and 1/12 f-stop intervals. In test strip mode, a test strip with 7 segments (-3 to +3) can be generated automatically. Again, the interval between the segments can be selected between 1/2 and 1/12 f-stops. While the test strip is made, a LED bar conveniently indicates the current position of the exposure.
Test strips can be generated in two ways: Incremental or single test strips. In incremental mode, a base exposure is followed by 6 additive exposures. After each exposure, a segment of the test strip has to be covered up. This usually is the standard procedure for making test strips.
In single mode, 7 individual test strips are exposed after another, with each receiving the full exposure time of a final print. This is particularly useful for challenging prints, which require test strips of detail areas of the image.
The safelight and the enlarger (for focusing) can be switched on/off via individual switches. The test strip mode (incremental/single) is selected via a switch as well. During exposure, the safelight is automatically switched off to avoid influence on the print.
The brightness of the display and LEDs can be adjusted stepwise from 1-15.
A large 7-segment display is used to show the exposure time.
The timer has two connections for the enlarger and safe light. An optional foot switch can be connected to enable hands-free operation.
